On-Site Laboratory
Blood, urine, feces, and biopsied tissues are commonly tested to detect potential abnormalities your dog or cat may be unable to verbalize. We never want our pets to be in pain, and they are very good at hiding internal conditions. Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Hell’s Kitchen is home to a modern on-site lab allowing us to analyze a range of diagnostic tests such as blood work, fecal exams, urinalysis, skin scrapings, complete blood counts and blood chemistry profiles.
We don’t want our patients to be in pain for long. As opposed to sending samples to an outside lab, performing diagnostic tests in-house allows us to diagnose your pet with greater speed and accuracy. This way, a treatment plan can begin right away. At times, samples may be sent to an outside lab for less common and non-urgent tests.
Digital Radiography
Digital radiology is a veterinary advancement with enormous benefits. Capable of producing faster results, clearer images and easy sharing, Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Hell’s Kitchen is proudly equipped with modern digital x-ray technology allowing us to instantly capture and view detailed images of your pet’s insides. If your pet happens to need a specialist or second opinion, these high-quality digital images can be easily shared for consultation.
Pain-free and non-invasive, digital x-rays are commonly taken to diagnose intestinal blockages, bone breaks and fractures, bladder stones, tumors, chronic arthritis and more.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound technology sends out soundwaves and listens to the echoes in your pet’s body to form a complete picture of their internal systems. This advanced diagnostic tool allows us to examine the inside of organs, joints, muscles and tendons. Ultrasound is beneficial in locating cysts and tumors on the abdominal organs, as well as potential heart abnormalities.
Electrocardiogram
ECG technology assesses heart health by measuring heart rhythms and electrical impulses. This pain-free and non-invasive tool works by situating electrodes on specific areas of your pet’s body which produces results within minutes.
