Rock and Rawhide
For many dogs and cats, shelters can be an overwhelming place filled with stress and uncertainty. Rock & Rawhide is on a mission to change that by using distraction therapy to help pets feel more comfortable while they wait for their forever families.
This dedicated non-profit collects donations of toys, treats, blankets, and other pet essentials to create a calmer environment in shelters. When animals feel at ease, they are less likely to bark or show anxiety—helping them make a great first impression on potential adopters. Rock & Rawhide accepts donations citywide, from pet stores to concerts and beyond.
Pure Paws has proudly supported Rock & Rawhide, and our Hell's Kitchen location has served as a donation drop-off point. Join us in making a difference—stop by and donate today!
Beyond Breed’s Ruff Rider Project
Beyond Breed is a Brooklyn-based non-profit driven by passionate volunteers who understand the deep connection between people and their pets. Their mission is to provide support, resources, and education to pet owners who love their animals but may face financial or logistical challenges in caring for them.
One of their standout initiatives, The Ruff Riders Project, delivers free pet supplies, essential veterinary care, and even transportation to underserved neighborhoods in Brooklyn—all using a specially designed cargo trike!
Dr. Stephanie Liff collaborates closely with Beyond Breed, and Pure Paws proudly serves as their veterinary partner. This partnership allows Beyond Breed to access discounted preventive care, including spay/neuter procedures, dental care, and more to improve pets' well-being.
Beyond Breed’s impactful work was even featured in the Huffington Post through their inspiring project, Dogs of New York, where Dr. Stephanie Liff is highlighted!
Urban Cat League
New York City is home to thousands of street cats, and Urban Cat League is committed to giving them the care and protection they deserve. Through rescue efforts, adoptions, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs, this organization helps improve the lives of NYC’s stray and feral feline population.
Some cats are socialized and placed in loving homes, while others who can’t be tamed receive TNR services, ensuring they are spayed or neutered and safely returned to their environment. For cats that need relocation, Urban Cat League finds safer spaces where they can continue to thrive.
At Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Hell's Kitchen, we proudly support Urban Cat League by offering discounted veterinary care for these street-smart kitties. Want to help? Look for our donation jar at the front desk during your next visit!
Mr. Bones & Co.
Compassionate volunteers power Mr. Bones & Co., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting animal rescue groups, raising awareness for animal advocacy, and running its own rescue and rehabilitation initiative, One Lucky Pup. Operating in New York City and beyond, this organization is committed to giving at-risk dogs a second chance.
As a foster-based rescue, Mr. Bones & Co. removes dogs from shelters, providing them with the medical care, training, and rehabilitation they need before finding them loving forever homes. Their commitment extends to comprehensive veterinary care, including preventive treatments, fracture repairs, and even major surgeries.
At Pure Paws Veterinary Care, we proudly support Mr. Bones & Co. by offering discounted veterinary services and stepping in to help with fostering and boarding when needed.
Shelter Chic
Shelter Chic is on a mission to make pet adoption a fun and stylish experience. Their team has turned an animal hospital into a trendy, boutique-like space, drawing in potential adopters with its unique, upbeat atmosphere. Even better, the pets are dressed in adorable outfits that showcase their personalities, making it impossible not to fall in love!
At Pure Paws Veterinary Care, we’re proud to support Shelter Chic. We recently sponsored their annual gala and continue to provide discounted veterinary care and boarding services when foster homes aren’t available. Plus, Dr. Stephanie Liff serves on their Board of Charity!
