What is Quality of Life?
Quality of life is a term used in veterinary care to describe a pet's overall well-being, taking into account physical, mental, and behavioral factors. These elements help us understand if a pet is happy, declining, in pain, or suffering. While pets can’t express their feelings, there are often signs that indicate when their health or quality of life is diminishing.
Even when it's clear that your pet’s quality of life is no longer optimal, deciding when it's time to say goodbye can be incredibly difficult. Conducting a quality of life assessment and maintaining a daily activity log can provide a more objective way to track your pet’s health and well-being, helping guide your decision.
